CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

To ensure the longevity and appearance of your deck, consider the following care and cleaning recommendations:
  • Minimize High-Impact Activities: Excessive activities such as skateboarding, dragging heavy furniture, and dancing in stiletto heels can damage the deck surface. It's advisable to fix pads under outdoor chairs to prevent wear and tear.
  • Avoid Metal Shovels: Never use a metal shovel to remove ice or snow from the deck, as it can cause scratches and damage.
  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft-bristle broom and mild detergents or specialized deck cleaning products. Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach, CLR, or sugar soap. Always test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area first.
  • Regular Debris Removal: Regularly remove debris from the gaps between tiles to prevent staining, mold, and mildew growth.
  • Protection During Construction: If construction or renovation work is taking place nearby, cover the deck to protect it from concrete or gypsum dust, which can be difficult to remove and may cause permanent staining. Ideally, install the deck after all other construction work is completed.
  • Prompt Stain Removal: Immediately remove oil, grease, food, and known staining agents like red wine to maintain the deck's appearance and warranty.
  • Footwear in Hot Weather: Exercise caution when walking barefoot on the deck in hot weather, as the surface temperature can become elevated. Footwear may be necessary to avoid discomfort or burns.
